YouTube announced a new feature giving you the ability to add captions to your videos BEFORE you hit publish. They posted a great tutorial walking you through the process of adding or editing captions while publishing your videos.


Use it for Your Business

If I’ve said it once, I’ll say it twice, and over and over again: Captions are crucial for your videos on social media.

A study of Verizon customers found that 92% of views on mobile are with the sound off. 

Adding captions to your videos can be the difference between scrolling right on past and watching the entire video. The same study recommended that advertisers caption their ads because 80% of consumers are more likely to watch the entire video when captions are available.

Thankfully, most platforms are now baking in features to make captioning easier. Facebook has new AI technology to autocaption Lives and here’s how to add captions to your Facebook ads.

Instagram is rolling out the ability to auto-caption Stories. The platform already has the ability to add captions to IGTV videos.

However, there are some applications where autocaptioning isn’t available or reliable enough to use. You may consider using a service such as the MixCaptions app or Rev
