Hitting send on this post is the last thing I’m going to do before closing up shop for the weekend.

They say if you love your work, you’ll never work a day in your life. I think that’s true in the sense that work won’t feel like drudgery if you truly enjoy it. You’ll be motivated to do well and find fulfillment in it.

However, that doesn’t mean you won’t feel exhausted. That doesn’t mean you won’t get burned out. You still need boundaries and a break from work.

The Internet is boundary-less.

Being the World Wide Web, there is always someone awake somewhere. There are no acceptable opening and closing times. This is equal parts wonderful and terrible.

The same goes for my work-from-home self-employment. There is no one creating boundaries. This is equal parts wonderful and terrible.

A flexible work schedule only bends so far. It bends until we break.

So, it’s up to me to create my own boundaries and protect them. I’m great at it rarely, good at it often and sometimes awful at it.

Today I choose great. Tomorrow is another day and another opportunity to choose well.

My wish for you this weekend is that you may choose well too. TGIF!!!
