Side Parts & Skinny Jeans

What's Happening

In the last couple of weeks on social media, I’ve witnessed the rollout of the biggest generational smackdown since “Ok Boomer.” Gen Z is throwing shade on Millenials saying side parts and skinny jeans are no longer cool.

The rather tame assertion has Millennials lashing out saying, among other things, they’re not going to take advice from the generation who eats Tide pods.

Use it for Your Business

While it’s entertaining to watch the drama unfold, gen wars aren’t a helpful trend for your business on social media. Though I will say that Truly Magazine did a great job of relating the trend to finding a mentor.

The use cases for jumping on the generation-bashing bandwagon and your business coming out unscathed are few and far between.

Just because it's new doesn't mean it's worth your time: Is weighing in on the gen war worth your time?

NO!: I give it 1 out of 5 thumbs up.

A 5 Rating Means: Don’t waste your time! You’ll never see a return on that investment, or worse, it may hurt your reputation.
