Social Media Examiner released its 2022 Social Media Marketing Industry Report. Over 2,900 marketers tell you what they’re focusing on this year.

Why does it matter what other marketers are doing? I was skeptical at first too. But, every year it helps to justify some of my decisions and solidify some I was questioning.

Use it for Your Business 

Here’s a breakdown of the bits I found particularly interesting. Take note of how you may want to expand your social presence considering these nuggets of knowledge.

 

“Instagram is hot: Seventy-nine percent of marketers are using Instagram.”

Instagram has ramped up it’s tools and features to benefit creators over the last year, and it’s paying off.

 

“Short-form video formats like Reels are growing. Nearly one in four marketers say those are their most important video formats.”

If you invest time learning anything this year, learn how to create Reels!

 

“TikTok adoption is rapidly growing: While only 18% of marketers are using TikTok, 37% plan to increase their activity on the platform and a significant 47% are interested in learning more about TikTok.”

Summer feels like a great time to explore and play on this fun platform. And, like I said, learn how to create these short-form videos!

 

“Marketers have been diversifying away from Facebook steadily since 2019; however, its dominance is still strong. A very significant 90% of marketers use Facebook.”

I don’t think we can get away from Facebook completely. It’s a commodity in some ways, and is consistently sends the most people from the platform to your website.
