TikTok Goes CorporateJan 10, 2022
With the transition to working from home over the pandemic, it’s become easier to create and watch videos. Enter: #CorporateTikTok
Many make the assumption that TikTok is for GenZ, but TikTok is going corporate! Over 70% of users are over 25 and many of those are millennials. The #corporate, #CorporateTikTok, and #CorporateLife hashtags have been trending for several months.
Think of it as was a way to poke fun at work life, connect with your work bestie, and help others thrive in the work-from-home culture. Never actually meeting your co-workers IRL is a weird and new phenomenon, and each company has developed its own version of Zoom etiquette. Creators are making videos to help us navigate this new landscape with both humor and tack.
Use it for Your Business
Great advantages to creating TikTok videos:
- Be Cool: #CorporateTikTok is a way to make brands cool. TikTok is where all the short-form video trends start. Even if you don’t actually post to TikTok, I recommend getting on the app to find the latest and greatest.
- SFW: Much of TikTok is NSFW. But, considering the #CorporateTikTok videos are either giving advice on success in the work world or sharing their experiences, most are safe for work. Meaning, they are clean and appropriate for other businesses to hop on the trend or share.
- Recycle-worthy: TikTok videos perform well on all other platforms! (Trust me. I’ve tested this out.)
Just because it's new doesn't mean it's worth your time: Is catching up on the #CorporateTikTok trends worth your time?
MAYBE: I give it 3 out of 5 thumbs up.
It never hurts to keep up with what’s performing well, you may get a few good ideas out of it. However, it’s not going to make a big difference for your business.
